Speaking Up Groups in County Durham Steering Group

We run the Speaking Up Groups in County Durham.
We come to the office and answer the phone, send letters, organise our work.

We like to meet up and have a chat over a cup of coffee. We meet monthly at the Miners' Hall in Durham city. We also like to meet other Speaking Up Groups in the region.

We like to find out about issues affecting people with learning disabilities. We like to have a say about decisions made which may affect us.

We all live in different parts of County Durham.

If you would like to help steer our project, learn new office skills and make friends, please let us know.

All of us on the steering group have done the Training For Change Course and we got a certificate from the Open College Network.

Richard and Stephen were then tutors on the course for a year for other people.
